Recap: My First Yoga & Brunch Event!

My heart is so full after hosting my very first (sold out!) yoga event this morning – it was a yoga and brunch event, held in the most gorgeous space with the most gorgeous humans, and I’d love to share some reflections.

The event took place in the beautiful Hub at St Mary’s. This location is a great central spot in the heart of Lichfield, with incredible architecture and stunning stained glass windows. These stained glass windows provided the perfect backdrop for our relaxing morning, and the underfloor heating was a lovely additional touch that kept us cosy during our yoga flow!

We began the day with a 60 minute gentle yoga flow. There was a mix of all levels present, from total beginners to qualified yoga teachers and everything in between, so the yoga practice was tailored to reflect this, including plenty of options for modifying throughout. The focus was on listening within and tuning into our own bodies, so everyone was able to access a practice that felt good for them.

After the yoga flow, it was time for brunch! Vegan brunch boxes were provided by a local caterer (AP Catering) and were very tasty. We had a choice of vegan pancakes with mixed berry compote, or smashed avocado and black bean on sourdough. I actually don’t have very good photos of the brunch boxes as we ate them up too quickly, which just speaks volumes about how tasty the food was! It was great to see so many people socialising over their brunch and hearing such positive reflections about the day.

Finally, it was time to depart. After taking one last glance around the beautiful space, we headed downstairs and back out into the bustling Market Square, where there happened to be a vegan market in full flow – a great place to buy a sweet treat before heading home!

I’m grateful to have received some great feedback from participants already, such as:

“The class was well paced for all ages and abilities and the location was so calming. Feeling sooo relaxed and zen – what a beautiful start to 2025. Heart and belly are full!”

“My hip and knee are much less stiff, you are an amazing teacher.”

“Your voice is the perfect tone for teaching yoga.”

“Thank you soo much for today, you’ve given me a new lease of life.”

“I loved this morning!! I didn’t realise how much I needed it. Hope you do more of these, I’ll definitely be there.”

“You nailed your first event and held the space beautifully.”

“Thank you for a great morning, I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to do more yoga. I haven’t felt that relaxed and calm in a long time.”

I’d like to say a huge thank you to the Hub for providing the beautiful venue, AP Catering for providing the delicious food, and of course to all of my wonderful participants for taking a chance on my first event and for being so friendly. I’ve had a great morning, and I’m full of love and gratitude.
